A) PG Degree Courses are available in the following disciplines:
1. Clinical Sciences: Anaesthesiology, Community Medicine, Dermatology Venerelogy & Leprosy, General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics, Radio-Diagnosis and Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases.
2. Basic Clinical Sciences: Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology and Physiology.
B) PG Diploma Courses: Diploma in Dermatology, Venerology & Leprosy, Diploma in Ophthalmology, Diploma in Orthopaedics, Diploma in Pediatrics and Diploma in Radiodiagnosis
Duration of Degree Course: PG degree courses MD / MS is for three years from 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2011.
Duration of Diploma Course: PG diploma is for two years from 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2010.
Eligibility:
1. Applicant must be a Resident Indian National.
2. The candidates must possess MBBS Degree or foreign medical degree of a University / Institute recognised by The Medical Council of India*.
3. Must have either completed or due to complete one year internship (rotatory houseman ship) training by 31st March 2008**.
4. Must be registered with Central / State Medical Registration Council***.
*The cut-off dates for recognition of Medical Colleges by MCI for the year 2008 will be 31st October 2007. The colleges recognized after this date will not be considered.
** Candidates likely to complete internship by 31-3-2008 can take up the examination. No condonation of Compulsory Rotating Internship beyond this date will be accepted.
*** Registration with MCI / State Medical Council is essential and its documentary proof should be furnished at the time of counseling.
Application procedure: Prospectus-cum-application are available on cash payment only at Bank of Baroda (Extension Counter) basement of the Administrative Building, JIPMER. The Applications will be available from Bank of Baroda upto 27-12-2007 2 P.M.
Prospectus-cum-application can also be had from Professor (Academic), JIPMER Puducherry - 605 006 on or before 15-12-2007 through postal request, accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs.750/- (For unreserved) and Rs.600/- (For SC/ST) issued by any Nationalised Bank, drawn in favour of “Accounts Officer JIPMER”, payable at Puducherry. Institute is not responsible for any postal delays.
Postal request for supply of application from Professor (Academic) closes on 15-12-2007 and the draft if received later to this date will not be refunded. No further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
