Counseling schedule for provisional admission into Post-Graduate Medical Courses for the academic year 2008-09

The counseling for provisional selection for admission into Post-Graduate Medical Degree / Diploma Courses for the academic year 2008-09 will be held from 21-04-2008 at Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada as per the schedule given below. The counseling will be held from 9.00 AM to 6.00 P.M. on each day. The candidates remaining, if any, will be called for counseling on the next day.

The selections will be done for those seats which are recognized/permitted by the

Medical council of India in to affiliated colleges for the year 2008-09.

The selection of candidates for P.G. Medical Courses shall be as per the orders of Government in G.O.Ms.No.74, HM & FW (E2) Department, dt.21-3-2006 and as per the regulations for admission to PG Medical courses for the academic year 2008-09.

The available seats recognized/permitted by the MCI and University area wise roster points for counseling will be displayed in the University website and on the notice board of the University one day before the commencement of the counseling.

Note: Physically handicapped candidates of all areas are informed to report at University Campus at 9.00 A.M. on 20-04-2008 (Sunday) before the Medical Board constituted by the University for confirmation of status of disability as per the guidelines of Medical Council of India and only those candidates confirmed by the Medical Board will be eligible for the seats reserved under PH quota.

All the candidates who have qualified at the Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test 2008 held on 12-03-2008 are advised to attend the counseling as per the schedule detailed above. They should bring all original certificates and a demand draft for Rs.7,600/- (Rupees Seven thousand six hundred only) for a seat in Government Medical College and Rs.10,600/- (Rupees Ten thousand six hundred only) for a seat in Private Medical College. The demand draft should be drawn on any nationalized Bank in favour of the Registrar, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, payable at Vijayawada. The in-service candidates eligible under service quota and fulfilling the eligibility criteria of remaining service as per G.O.Ms.No.122, HM & FW (E2) Department, dt.13-4-2006 shall attend the counseling with latest service certificate, in original, issued by the concerned Directorate.

All the candidates shall verify their Social Status, Local Area and In-service eligibility in the Merit list before commencement of the counseling process and if there is any discrepancy, they shall bring the same to the notice of the University with documentary proof for correction on or before 2.00 P.M.18-04-2008. No changes in the Merit list shall be made after commencement of counseling process.

The candidates shall come prepared to stay for one or more days, if required.

The candidates selected will have to report and join the course on or before 29-04-2008 in the respective colleges and submit bond.

Mere attending the counseling does not confer right for a seat as more number of candidates are called than the number of available seats.

As per G.O.Ms.No:83, HM & FW(E2) Department, dt:25-03-2006, the vacant seats in clinical, Pre and Para-Clinical subjects at the end of selections in each region shall be filled duly following the roster point from among the applicants who are in service candidates and who have applied through their respective Heads of Departments on a separate proforma. The selections shall be done on the basis of merit based on MBBS marks.

The eligible service candidates shall submit the application form to the Registrar, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada through the concerned Head of the Department so as to reach on or before 05-05-2008 by 5.00P.M. Eligibility for RPMT 2008: No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the Medical curriculum of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) Course until : 1. He / She shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December, 2008 (D.O.B. 31st Dec, 1991 or earlier). 2. He or she has passed the qualifying examination as under: The Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 after a period of 12 year study. The last 2 years study must comprise of Physics, Chemistry, Biology with English as compulsory subjects. 3. Other Eligibility Criteria as per Certificate No. 3(C) mentioned in Form “A” : I. The candidate has studied for the last three years of qualifying examination continuously as a regular candidate in a recognized institution in Rajasthan. II. Natural Father/Mother of the candidate has continuously resided in Rajasthan for the period of last 10 years and candidate has studied for at least 5 years during this period in a recognized educational institution in Rajasthan. III. Additional Criterion for eligibility (as per University of Rajasthan, notification no 11(2) 2001 / Acad J/14336M dated 21-04-2001) All those students who are bona fide residents of Rajasthan but are studying in other states will also be eligible for appearing at Pre-Medical Test. IV, V & VI. The candidate is son/ daughter of serving or retired employee of Government of Rajasthan including officers of All India Services, State cadres of Rajasthan or Undertaking/Corporation / Improvement Trust/ Municipal Bodies duly constituted by the Government of Rajasthan by an act of Law or any of the University of Rajasthan or Secondary Board of Education( Rajasthan) provided that employee has worked in Rajasthan for three years preceding the last date of submission of the application. VII & VIII. Candidate is a son/daughter of a permanent employee of Indian Defence service serving/ Retired and the employee is either of Rajasthan origin irrespective of his place of posting or is posted in Rajasthan on the last date of the application for admission. Provided that in case of Defence Personnel from Rajasthan origin, a certificate has to be submitted by them from the employer to the effect that his state of origin is Rajasthan at the time of his entry into service. The domicile requirement for the wards of the Defence personnel from the State of Rajasthan but serving in other State is waived off. For wards of Defence personnel from other States but serving in the State of Rajasthan, the domicile condition is waived off to enable them to appear in the entrance test and be selected in general quota. IX & X. Candidate is a Son/Daughter of serving/Retired person of Para Military Forces of India and the employee is either of Rajasthan origin irrespective of his place of posting or is posted in Rajasthan on the last date of the application for admission Provided that in case of Para Military personnel from the Rajasthan origin, a certificate has to be submitted by them from the employer to the effect that his state of origin is Rajasthan at the time of his entry into service. XI. Candidate is a Son/Daughter of a Judge of Rajasthan High Court subject to the condition that he/she submits an undertaking / affidavit stating that such benefit is not being claimed or availed by them in any other State.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1.For all courses, where MBBS/BDS is an eligible requirement, the candidate who have made more than one attempt (i.e. have more than one failure, compartment or reappear) during their MBBS / BDS career, are not eligible. For DM/M.Ch., courses, the candidates who have made mroe than one attempt in MBBS/MD/MS career are not eligible. However, those belonging to Sch. Caste/Tribes with upto two attempts in their MBBS/BDS career will be eligible for MD/MS, and MDS, House Job in Oral Health Sciences.

2.The candidates completing internship after 30.6.2008 are not eligible for course No. 1, 2 and 3.

3.The number of seats wherever indicated are provisional and may increase/decrease without any prior notice.

And from 2.30 PM to 3.30 PM on all working days except Saturdays (On Saturdays, forms will be available from 10.30 AM to 12.00 Noon) or by post for which the request must be accompanied with a self addressed thick envelope of size 24×15 cm bearing postage stamps of Rs. 30/- and Bank Draft preferable form any SBI branch payable at SBI Medical Institute Branch (Code No. 1524), Chandigarh for General Rs. 500/- and for SC/ST Rs. 400/- (indicating category i.e. General or SC/ST) drawn in faovur of the director, PGI, Chandigarh. However, prospectus of Rdm/m.Ch. will be available for Rs. 500/- only as there is no reservation for the same.

H.P. Combined Pre-Medical Entrance Test (CPMT) – 2008
Date of HP CPMT 2008 Entrance Test: May 29, 2008 (Thursday)

An objective type (MCQ) Combined Pre-Medical Entrance Test (HP-CPMT-200 for admission to MBBS/BDS courses (1st year) in Govt. Medical / Dental Colleges including Private Un-aided Dental Colleges (State/Management Quota) in Himachal Pradesh for the academic session 2008-09 will be held on May 29, 2008 (Thursday) at Shimla, Mandi, Dharamshala and Hamirpur Examination Centres for which the applications on the prescribed form from the eligible candidates are invited as available in the prospectus.

LAST DATE: The last date for receipt of application forms complete in all respects either by hand or by Registered/Speed Post in the office of the Deputy Registrar (Entrance Tests) is 5.5.2008 upto 5 PM where after no application shall be accepted. The NRI Candidates (Foreign Students) shall send their applications complete in all respects direct to the Principal(s) of the concerned College(s) latest by 31.5.2008.

H.P. CPMT 2008 Eligibility

i) For State Quota Seats in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges & 50% seats in Private un-aided Dental Colleges: Children of bonafide Himachali/Himachal Govt. employees and employees of Autonomous Bodies wholly or partially financed by the Himachal Pradesh Govt. and have passed at least two examinations out of four i.e. Middle, Matric, +1 & +2 or their equivalent from the recognised school(s) /College(s) situated in the State of Himachal Pradesh only are eligible to apply for the test. However, Children of Defence Personnel/EX-servicemen/Central Govt. employees/employees of Undertaking wholly owned by the Central Govt. including U.T. employees/Autonomous Bodies and Children of Himachal Govt. employees/employees of wholly owned H.P. Govt. Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies, who are Bonafide Himachal living outside the State on account of their service are exempted from the condition of passing two examinations from the School(s) situated in the State of Himachal Pradesh.

(ii) The Bonafide Himachal Students who admitted to Navodaya Schools situated in Himachal Predesh, but passed Matric or +2 examinations under the exchange prognamme form other Navodaya Schools in the country are also eligible for competing this test.

iii) For Management Quota Seats only in Private Un-aided Dental Colleges: Under this quota, there will be no domicile and schooling condition, both Himachaii and non-Himachali interested candidates can compete in the entrance test subject to fulfillment of minimum educational qualification and age as mentioned.

iv) Educational Qualification: The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination of a University / Board by law in India with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects which shall include a practical test with 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC) provided the candidate has qualified the subject of English as an elective subject in the above examination.

Note: The candidates who have appeared in 10+2 or its equivalent examination and the result has not been declared can also apply for this test, but the admission will be subject to passing of the said examination with the required percentage at the time of 1st round of counselling.

Age: The candidate should have already completed or should complete the age of 17 years and must not have completed 25 years of age on 31st December, 2008.

FOR CHILDREN OF J&K MIGRANTS: Who posses the minimum qualifying qualifications and age as given above can also compete in this test against the seats reserved for them.

FOR CHILDREN OF TIBETAN REFUGEES: Who posses the minimum qualifying qualifications and age as given above and should be sponsored by the Tibetan Govt. in Exile can also compete for this test against the seat reserved for them.

FOR NRI CANDIDATES

Candidates who are residing abroad and who have passed the qualifying examination form abroad and who fulfill the minimum education and age as given above are also eligible to apply on the prescribed form available in the prospectus. They need not appear in the entrance test.

PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING THE PROSPECTUS:

(i) University Counter: For prescribed application form and detailed information etc., the Prospectus can be obtained at the University Exam Enquiry-cum-sale Counter at Summer Hill, Shimla-5 from 10.04.2008 to 05.05.2008 during working hours on cash payment of Rs. 1,000/- for General & other categories, Rs. 500/- for SC/ST categories only and US Dollars 40 or equivalent in Rupee for NRI candidates.

(ii) By Post: The requests for supply of the Prospectus by post can only be addressed to the Deputy Registrar (Entrance Tests) H.P. University, Shimla-171005 accompanied by crossed IPOs/Bank Draft amounting to Rs. 1050/ - incase of General & Other categories, Rs. 550/- for SC/ST categories only and US Dollar 50 or equivalent in Rupees for NRIs, drawn in favour of the FINACNE OFFICER, H.P. UNIVERSITY, SHIMLA-5 .

No request for sending the prospectus by post will be entertained after 22-04-2008, while applying for supply of prospectus by post, the candidate must write the HP CPMT Prospectus -2008 is required and complete mailing address in capital letters along with telephone number be mentioned.

NOTE: It will be the entire responsibility of the candidate(s) to procure the prospectus will in time and submit the application complete in all respects within the stipulated date. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay or non- receipt or in case misplacement or lost of prospectus in transit. All disputes are subject to legal jurisdiction of courts in Shimla only.

AFMC Question Papers and Guide

AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College) Pune

Age: For 10+2 pass candidates, not less than 17 years but below 22 years as on December 31 of the year of examination. For BSc graduates, below 24 years as on December 31 of the year of examination.

Pattern of Examination
Generally, written test for MBBS courses of AFMC consists of the following pattern 200 questions: 50 each of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and 25 each of English, and Intelligence, logic and reasoning.
For each correct answer 1 mark is awarded. For each wrong answer 0.25 marks is deducted. Use of calculator is not permitted in the examination.
